The head of the Ministry of Economy Maxim Reshetnikov said that 2.7 billion rubles will be allocated to support the tourism industry in Crimea. At a meeting of President Vladimir Putin with government members, Mr. Reshetnikov reported on the development of the tourism industry.
“Now we have received almost 4 billion rubles. from the sale of assets of foreign residents through the Ministry of Economy, on your instructions, we will send part of this money, namely 2.7 billion rubles. to support the tourist industry for the Crimea in order to compensate for the decline in tourist flow,” the minister said.
“Following the results of receiving applications for modular constructions, if we see a sufficient number of high-quality projects, we offer this balance of money, the difference between 4 billion and what we send to Crimea, to direct to their support so that we build more modular hotels in this year,” said Maxim Reshetnikov.
He said that in 2022 there were 4 million more tourist trips, and this despite restrictions on airports in the south. “And the preliminary data for the first quarter also show that the number of hotel guests has increased by 20%, this growth continues, and the figures are convincing,” said Mr. Reshetnikov.
Based, among other things, on data from public platforms, the minister spoke about prices in the three-star segment. “In our three-star segment, growth is above average in the Krasnodar Territory, in Moscow and in Tatarstan … price increases in the resorts of Stavropol, Bashkiria, Kaliningrad are approximately in the average range of 6-8%, while hotel prices in Crimea are now below the level of the past years, due to understandable restrictions, primarily transport restrictions, prices are also lower than last year in Siberia, in particular, in the Altai Territory,” the minister said.
The decline in demand for vacations in Crimea is associated with logistical difficulties: the airport in Simferopol has been closed for more than a year, travel by car across the Crimean bridge is difficult, and there are not enough trains. Against this background, rest in Sochi has risen in price by 30%. The government of the Russian Federation will allocate almost 170 million rubles for the development of tourism in the Krasnodar Territory.
