The Russian assets of the Group-IB cybersecurity company have been transferred to local shareholders and top management. The company will continue to operate in the country under the FAC.С.T brand. (Fight Against Cybercrime Technologies). Group-IB will be represented only on the international market. In Russia, the use of the Group-IB brand and the company’s trademarks will be completely completed by the end of 2023.
“As part of the further diversification of the business, the Russian assets of Group-IB, one of the leading international cybersecurity companies, were bought out by local shareholders and top management… Business development will continue under a new brand — FAC.С.T. In the future, Group-IB will be represented only on the international market,”— informed company.
Head of the FAC.C.T. appointed top manager Valery Baulin, who previously held the position of regional director of Group-IB. According to FAC.CT, Mr. Baulin is responsible for the company’s strategy in Russia and the CIS, entering new markets, as well as sustainable financial development of the business.
“Team FAC.C.T. will continue to provide services in the field of cybersecurity at the same high professional level and create products with an innovative technological approach to combating cybercrime, as it has been doing for all 20 years. The company’s assets remain certified information security tools, as well as all products previously developed in the Russian Federation, including those included in the Register of Domestic Software.
Group-IB is an international information security company that specializes in preventing cyber attacks, combating fraud and protecting brands from digital risks. It was founded in 2003 in Moscow. Since November 2018, Group-IB has been headquartered in Singapore.
In September 2021, the Lefortovsky District Court of Moscow arrested founder and CEO of Group-IB Ilya Sachkov in the case of treason. According to investigators, he passed abroad materials that were state secrets. The businessman himself does not admit guilt. Since September 2021, the management of the company has passed to his partner, Dmitry Volkov.
In July 2022, the company announced the diversification of the Group-IB business and the creation of an autonomous structure managed by Russian management and focused on the Russian and CIS market. Under the control of the global headquarters of Group-IB Global Private Ltd remain the Cyber Threat Research Centers in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
