The volume of insured deposits in 2023 increased by 21%

The total volume of funds subject to insurance on bank deposits for 2023 increased by 21.1%, to RUB 60,008 billion. This is the maximum growth rate over the past 13 years, reports Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) in “Monitoring of insured deposits for 2023.” Including household deposits increased by 19.7%, to RUB 44,859 billion. The greatest increase in the structure of deposits of individuals was shown by deposits in the range from 3 million to 10 million rubles: they increased by 39.9% in amount and by 37% in the number of depositors.
According to the DIA, the average deposit of an individual is 324 thousand rubles. The current insurance indemnity limits provide full protection for 98% of depositors of operating banks.
