Putin accused US intelligence agencies of blowing up Nord Streams – Kommersant

Russian President Vladimir Putin considers US intelligence agencies to be involved in the bombing of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines. He stated this in interview journalist Tucker Carlson. Mr. Putin was surprised why the German authorities remained silent in this situation.

During an interview, in response to a question from an American journalist about who blew up Nord Stream, Vladimir Putin answered with a laugh: “You, of course.” Mr. Carlson responded by saying that he had an alibi, to which the Russian President said: “You personally may have an alibi, but the CIA does not have such an alibi.”

“I won’t go into details, but in such cases they always say: look for someone who is interested. In this case, we need to look not only for someone who is interested, but also for someone who can do it. Because there may be many interested, but not everyone can climb to the bottom of the Baltic Sea and carry out this explosion,” says Mr. Putin.

When asked whether he is surprised by Germany’s silence in this situation, the Russian President will answer in the affirmative. “This surprises me too,” said Vladimir Putin.

Explosions at Nord Stream and the uncommissioned Nord Stream 2 occurred on September 26, 2022. Denmark, Germany and Sweden led joint investigation of incidents without inviting Russia to participate in it.
