A fragment of the database of personal data of clients and tickets for trains of Russian Railways (RZD) has become freely available, reported Telegram channel “Information leaks.” The press service of Russian Railways denied this information to RIA Novosti.
Russian Railways said that the leak occurred at the portal, which in 2014–2017 “tried to interact illegitimately” with their website.
The database fragment contains 1 million rows, including the full name of passengers, date of birth, gender, passport series and number, order number, points of departure and arrival, train number, date of ticket purchase (from 08/18/2014 to 02/14/2017 .), its cost.
According to the Telegram channel, the company has had leaks before: in August 2019, the personal data of 703 thousand Russian Railways employees became freely available, in November 2020, a dump of the site’s database was published on the official website of Russian Railways Bonus, in June 2022 year, internal documents of Russian Railways became publicly available.
