The Russian manufacturer of cigarettes West and Davidoff changed the main shareholder

International Tobacco Group, maker of tobacco products Davidoff, West, Jadé, P&S and Maxim, has changed its main owner, reports RBC with reference to the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. It is specified that Nikolay Tyaka became the majority shareholder of the company with a share of 75%.

The publication notes that Tyaka is a partner of the owners of the Megapolis tobacco distributor Igor Kesaev and Sergey Katsiev. Forbes estimated their fortunes at $2.6 billion and $1.7 billion, respectively.

At the moment, Nikolay Tyaka owns a stake in Mercury Properties, a real estate company. Kesaev holds a controlling stake of 46%, Katsiev is a minority shareholder of the company.

It is also known that until 2019, Mykola Tyaka was engaged in the development of a farm related to the wholesale of agricultural products.

“International Tobacco Group” – a former asset of Imperial Brands, which was the first of the tobacco companies on March 9 announced on the suspension of production, the termination of sales and marketing activities in Russia. The company clarified that the decision was due to “the inability to maintain full-fledged production against the backdrop of serious disruptions in business processes.”

March 15 Imperial Brands reported on the start of negotiations with a Russian legal entity on the transfer of business in Russia to it. In April 2022, the British company announced the transfer of the Russian business to local investors and the write-off of £225 million under this transaction.
