China wants to resume more regular and charter flights to Russia after the lifting of coronavirus restrictions, said Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui. In his opinion, the build-up can take place at the expense of Chinese airlines in conditions when in Russia “many aircraft have dual registration.”
“We need to restore those flights that flew before the pandemic. Now we need to make more regular and charter flights. We welcome Russians in China,” said Zhang Hanhui “RIA News”.
China in January resumed accepting applications from its citizens for obtaining passports for travel to other countries for the purpose of tourism. February resumed in a test mode, the organization of outbound group tours and the provision of tourist services.
By data Association of Tour Operators of Russia in 2022, 200.1 thousand foreign citizens visited Russia on a tourist visit, which is almost 1.5 times less than in 2021, when 288.3 thousand visited the country. China was the record holder in the number of tourists coming to Russia, before the pandemic. In 2019, Chinese citizens made 1.5 million tourist visits to Russia. According to the results of 2022, the indicator decreased to 842 trips.
