President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions on 200 Russian companies, including the state corporation “Rosatom”and its divisions, follows from the document published on the website of the office of the head of state.

“The decision of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions against the Russian nuclear industry has been put into effect. And this is not the last decision regarding this industry of theirs,” Zelensky commented on the document in his evening address (quoted by RIA Novosti).

In addition to Rosatom, the list includes Rusatom and its subdivisions, the corporate academy, the International Research Center based on the MBIR reactor, the Departmental Security of Rosatom, the Institute of Reactor Materials, and other organizations, enterprises and research institutes state corporations.

Sanctions are imposed for a period of 50 years, among the measures taken by the Ukrainian side are the blocking of assets and the withdrawal of capital from the country, the complete cessation of trade operations and transit through the territory of Ukraine, the suspension of the fulfillment of existing obligations, the annulment of existing licenses, etc.

January 29, 2023 Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions on 182 Russian and Belarusian companies, as well as three individual entrepreneurs. Most of the list was made up of transport, leasing, investment and manufacturing companies. Among the Belarusian organizations included in the list were Belaruskali, SG-Trans, the Gomel Chemical Plant, the Belarusian Railway, etc. Among the Russian ones – “Uralkali”, “Shchekinoazot”, Ruzaevsky plant of chemical engineering, Siberian leasing company, Gazprombank LeasingVTB Leasing, Unicredit Leasing, Gazpromtrans, Arkhbum, Siberian Coal Energy Company, etc.

In early January, Zelensky signed decree on the introduction of personal sanctions against 119 Russian and Ukrainian cultural figures, show business, political scientists and media managers. Among those sanctioned are singers Philip Kirkorov, Irina Allegrova, Anna Netrebko, Dmitry Bilan, Mikhail Shufutinsky, Larisa Dolina, Lolita Milyavskaya, Sergey Lazarev, Alexander Sklyar and Rodion Gazmanov, director Nikita Mikhalkov, TV presenters Dmitry Kiselev, Evgeny Petrosyan, Mikhail Galustyan, Leonid Yakubovich, editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and the RT TV channel Margarita Simonyan, political scientist Alexander Dugin and others. Also on the list is a citizen of Ukraine, TV presenter Zhanna Badoeva. January 15 President approved new list of 198 people.
