Zakharova: Biden falsely quoted Putin in his speech

US President Joe Biden took the liberty of falsely quoting Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s words about the nuclear threat, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Soloviev Live.

“As for the speech of the President of the United States, I consider it absolutely indecent from what it began. <…> Indecent, not because they have nothing to do or they have no right to touch other countries. <…> The fact is that he allegedly began by quoting the President of Russia. We, as we always do, began to double-check Biden’s words. Biden said this for sure, but the Russian president did not say this, ”said Zakharova (quote according to RIA Novosti).

According to the diplomat, the US President in his speech used the information that is now being actively disseminated by the American media. The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added that “this is an absolutely propaganda link that is being imposed on the public.”

During his speech at the UN General Assembly yesterday, Biden declaredthat Russia has allegedly flouted the UN charter and that Putin’s statement “with nuclear threats against Europe” is a disregard for non-proliferation obligations. RIA Novosti wrote about this.
