Yakutyanin became the master of sports of Russia in clay shooting

Aleksey Petrov, a native of the Suntarsky district, became the master of sports of Russia in trap shooting, the Sport of Yakutia newspaper reports.

The city of Tetyushi of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted the second stage of the Russian Cup in clay shooting. In the individual competition among men in the Olympic discipline “Skit”, 22-year-old Yakut shooter Alexei Petrov won silver. The athlete in the main program knocked out 116 targets out of 125 and fulfilled the standard of the master of sports of Russia. Having become one of the strongest, he successfully advanced to the semi-finals and finals, where he took second place.

Arkady Andreev, head coach of the RS(Y) team in clay shooting, shared that in 2019 Alexey entered the Kazan School of Olympic Reserve. And this year he is graduating from the UOR and will enter the Volga Region University of Physical Education and Sports.

It is noted that Alexey became the fifth master of sports from the Yakut people in trap shooting. In total, almost thirty sportsmen are engaged in trap shooting in the republic.
