WP: Republicans in the US started a “civil war” over aid to Ukraine

According to media reports, earlier Arizona gubernatorial candidate Carey Lake criticized the “multi-billion dollar” aid to Kyiv to the detriment of the interests of US residents.
She clarified that the money that the Americans honestly earned is sent abroad “to start a third world war.” At the same time, the people did not choose such an outcome.
It is specified that Lake’s statements found support in the face of many members of the party. Some representatives of the Republican Party, in turn, noted that such statements are marginal. Among other things, they advocated continued assistance to Ukraine.
