american newspaper Washington Post reports that the inhabitants of Europe, as winter approaches, become more and more desperate. In some regions, theft and lack of firewood are currently observed.

According to the author of the publication, in the UK, locals who are experiencing financial problems abandon their pets.

“Among other things, schools are saying that due to the significant increase in electricity prices, schools will no longer be able to buy new textbooks. In Poland, authorities are considering distributing reusable smoke masks. The reason is that in the upcoming winter, Poles may have to burn garbage in order to keep warm,” the newspaper notes.

It is clarified that a shortage and a rapid increase in firewood prices are now observed in several European countries. For example, according to German analyst Christoph Butterwegge, by winter, some German households will give 20-30% of their income to pay electricity bills. Because of this, a large number of poor people will appear in the country.
