“Wings” missed the victory, leading 3:0 during the Cup match, but won on penalties
On Tuesday, October 2, Samara “Wings” hosted Dynamo Makhachkala at home. The match took place as part of the 5th round of the group stage of the RPL Path of the Russian Football Cup.
By the break, the Samara players were leading with a score of 3-0. In the very opening of the meeting, in the 1st and 11th minutes, Ulvi Babaev and Dmitry Tsypchenko scored. At the end of the first half, 20-year-old Babaev scored a double.
After the break, the players produced a mirror result on the field. First, guest forward Hamid Agalarov scored twice. And in added time, Abakar Gadzhiev equalized the score in the match.
After a draw in regulation time, the game continued with a penalty shootout, in which Krylia turned out to be stronger - 5:3.
The match no longer had any tournament significance for the Samara team. In the first four games, the Wings did not score points and lost their tournament prospects.
The next match “Krylya Sovetov” will play away against Moscow “Lokomotiv”. The match of the 11th round of the Russian Premier League (12+) championship will take place on October 6.
