Wedding participants arrested and fined in Crimea for playing Ukrainian song


The Bakhchisaray District Court arrested and fined six participants in the Crimean Tatar wedding, which played the Ukrainian folk song Chervona Kalina, Kommersant was told in the press service of the court.

According to the materials of the case, during a wedding in the Arpat banquet hall in the city of Bakhchisarai, a public demonstration of a Ukrainian song took place, which, according to the expert’s conclusion, is an attribute (battle song) used by an organization of Ukrainian nationalists, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned on the territory of the Russian Federation .

According to the court, the text of "Chervona Kalina", which contains the phrase "to free Ukrainian brothers from Moscow shackles", contains information about discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation. In this regard, six people were brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 20.3, part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

According to Kommersant's sources, the wedding DJ who turned on the song and the host of the event were sent under arrest for ten days. The groom's mother was arrested for five days. The mother of the groom and the wife of the owner of the establishment were fined 50 thousand rubles. The owner of the restaurant, who had already apologized on social media and promised to purchase a drone for the needs of the Russian military, was placed under arrest for 15 days. The establishment itself was closed for inspection.
