The absolute majority of residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, are in favor of joining Russia following referendums, should from the results of the VTsIOM survey.

Thus, in the DPR and LPR, 87% of respondents said they would rather take part in the referendums that began today. 5% of residents of the DPR and 8% of the LPR do not plan to vote. In the Russian-controlled territories of the Zaporozhye region, 80% intend to take part in the referendum, in the Kherson region this figure was 69%.

97% of the inhabitants of the DPR and LPR, 87% of respondents in Zaporozhye and 89% in the Kherson region were in favor of joining Russia. The survey was conducted on September 22 by telephone among 4,000 residents of these regions, commissioned by the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISI).

Today, in the territories of the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, referenda began on the issue of joining Russia. Voting will last until September 27, after which the results will be announced within five days, this was reported on September 21 by the election commission of the Kherson region.

On September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in the country. At present, according to him, the Russian Armed Forces operate on the line of contact, which exceeds 1,000 km. Mobilization activities began on the same day. Putin also stressed that Russia would support decisions to annex the liberated territories if they were adopted in a referendum.

Later, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu explained that those in the reserve were subject to conscription under partial mobilization, he estimated their number at 300,000 people. We are not talking about the mobilization of students or conscripts, Shoigu specified.
