Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of the State Duma, will represent Russia at the inauguration ceremony of re-elected Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This was announced by Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Ushakov.

On May 28, the second round of presidential elections took place in Turkey. According to the results of counting 100% of the votes, Erdogan received 51.91%, and his rival Kemal Kılıçdaroglu - 48.09% with a turnout of 85.72%.

Putin congratulated Erdogan with a victory in the elections, calling it natural. The Russian leader expressed his readiness to continue the dialogue with the re-elected president on issues of the "bilateral, regional and international agenda." He also noted the importance of implementing joint projects between Russia and Turkey, in particular, the construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant and the creation of a gas hub in Turkey.
