Vladimir Putin announced after presenting the Golden Star orders to participants in the special military operation in the Kremlin’s St. George Hall that he had decided to run for president in 2024. If he wins, this will be his fifth term at the head of state.
After the ceremony, the President spoke with the awarded Heroes of Russia. Hero of the DPR, commander of the Sparta battalion Artem Zhoga asked Vladimir Putin to go to the polls. The rest joined the request. The President agreed, reports Kommersant special correspondent Andrei Kolesnikov.
December 6 Federation Council appointed presidential elections on March 17, 2024. They will take place over three days: March 15, 16 and 17. The CEC will make a decision on holding elections in new regions of Russia before December 12 after consultations with security officials. According to the FOM, 70% of Russians support the nomination of Vladimir Putin for a new presidential term.
