The Russian company VK has released a beta version of the video service “VK Video” for android. You can download it through the digital stores Google Play and RuStore. An iOS version will also be coming soon. A full launch is planned for the fall.

The application allows you to watch videos both online and offline, and in the catalog you can find movies, series, videos from bloggers, exclusive shows and streams. VK Video features thematic playlists, improved catalog search, and a recommendation showcase.

The “Trends” section will show the most relevant videos. View history will be available, you can like the video, add it to your bookmarks or your own playlist, and see which videos have been downloaded to your device.

The videos themselves have the function of fast rewinding, speeding up or slowing down the video, as well as auto-subtitles, time codes and background viewing. Recommendations and views are synced across devices. Video content in the application is available without registration or authorization.
