The authorities of the Bryansk region decided to refuse to hold a military parade and march of the “Immortal Regiment” on May 9. About it informed Governor of the region Alexander Bogomaz in his Telegram channel.

He noted that when holding mass events, the main thing is to ensure the safety of citizens. “This year we cannot spend the holiday as we would like, with a solemn procession of parade crews, a Parade of Generations, with portraits of our Heroes in the column of the Immortal Regiment,” continued Bogomaz.

The governor stressed that Victory Day remains the main holiday for the people of Russia, “despite everything.”

He recalled that this year the action “Immortal Regiment” will pass in multiple formats at once. Russians will be able to place portraits of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War on cars, clothes, windows of houses, as well as upload photos and information about the participants in the war to a special website and publish them on social networks.

Earlier, military parades on May 9 were canceled for security reasons in a number of Russian regions, including the Belgorod and Kursk regions, as well as Crimea and Sevastopol. On the eve, May 2, on the refusal of mass events on May 9 informed Governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin.

In Moscow, the military parade will be held on May 9, as planned, informed earlier today, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s plans to attend the event will not be affected by the drone attack on the Kremlin on the night of May 3, he stressed.
