Since the spring of 2022, the Chinese company Huawei has begun relocating some of its employees in Russia to other CIS countries, in particular, to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This is reported by the source Vedomostiwho explains that forced relocations have affected managers and heads of divisions of the company from China.

“The company began transferring employees in July-August, and Kazakhstan was chosen because of all the CIS countries, this market is the largest and most promising for Huawei in the region,” Denis Kuskov, CEO of the Telecom Daily analytical agency, explained in a dialogue with the publication.

According to him, the employees transferred to Kazakhstan will be responsible for the development of the company’s business in all CIS countries. “Some of these employees are managers and heads of Huawei divisions from China, who were sent to Russia at the beginning of the year, but were subsequently redirected to other CIS countries,” the unnamed source of the newspaper added.

In August, Kommersant’s sources reportedthat Huawei has stopped direct deliveries of goods to branded stores in Russia. At the company’s outlets, even the devices on display were not sold to visitors.
