“United Russia” did not support the initiative of the Ministry of Transport to increase fares for travel on toll roads from 3 rubles. up to 5–8 rubles. for 1 km of the way. The party called on the government not to accept the draft resolution proposed by the ministry, said Andrei Turchak, secretary of the United Russia General Council.

According to him, “the desire of the road builders to increase their profits is understandable,” but now we need to “think on a nationwide, not a narrow industry scale.” Mr. Turchak considers it necessary to support entrepreneurs involved in cargo transportation. “Rising logistics costs will ultimately also affect the final cost of goods, consumers, ordinary people, and also put pressure on transport companies that provide a huge number of jobs,” he wrote in Telegram.

The Ministry of Transport published a new version of the draft government decree with tariffs for toll federal roads (2016 prices are now in effect) yesterday, October 3. The department claims that the current tariffs were calculated in the realities of 2015, but the cost of construction is constantly growing.
