UEFA decided to remove Bosnia and Herzegovina from tournaments under its auspices. Sanctions may be imposed against the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina if a friendly match with the Russian national team takes place.

According to the Bosnian newspaper Dnevni Avaz, the suspension will apply to upcoming UEFA competitions, as well as financial assistance. The country will be excluded from all programs of the organization.

At the same time, UEFA previously reported that friendly matches are not within their competence. However, due to the holding of such a game, sanctions based on the political decisions of the European Union will follow. All bodies, including sports ones, are subordinate to him.

The match is now scheduled to take place in November 2022. According to the source of the edition, probably the meeting, after all, will be cancelled.

Earlier, the players of the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the football officials of this country, spoke out against the game with the Russians. According to media reports, in the event that a friendly match between the Russian national team and the team of Bosnia and Herzegovina takes place, the amount of earnings of the Football Federation of the Balkan country will be about € 200,000. And the Russian side will also cover the cost of travel and accommodation, the report says.
