Turkish Energy Ministry: Deliveries via TANAP will double

Pumping through the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP), through which gas is transported from the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz field to the western Turkish border, will be doubled. As transmits Anadolu, Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez announced that the annual pumping volume will be increased from 16 to 32 cubic meters. m.

Earlier about plans to increase the capacity of the gas pipeline spoke Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. In July, the EU and Azerbaijan signed a memorandum on energy cooperation, which included a provision to double the capacity of the line.

Yesterday, October 5, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen informedthat after the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine, Russia’s share in gas supplies to the EU decreased from 41% to 7%. In this regard, the European Union is looking for alternative suppliers.
