Turkey wants to import more gas from the US

Turkey has decided to increase the amount of gas it buys from the US. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a meeting of the Turkish-American Business Council in New York.
“We want to increase the amount of gas we buy from the US on more favorable terms in the coming period,” he said.
Erdogan also added that Ankara is ready to cooperate on the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Turkey.
At present, the main gas supplies to Turkey come from Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan.
