Turkey promised to continue serving Russian flights at its airports

Flights of Russian airlines will be provided with ground handling at Turkish airports this summer. About it reported press service of the Federal Air Transport Agency.

“Flights of Russian airlines scheduled for the IATA Summer 2023 season will be provided with ground handling at the airports of the Republic of Turkey in accordance with previously concluded commercial agreements,” the report says. The press service noted the constant control of the aviation authorities of the two countries on the flights of Russian and Turkish airlines.

The meeting between the deputy head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Vladimir Poteshkin and the head of the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority Kemal Yuksek took place today, March 17, in the Turkish capital Ankara.

“Given the long-term cooperation between the countries in various areas of the economy, transport and tourism, the parties expressed mutual interest in the further development of air traffic,” the ministry concluded.

Previously, two sources of Vedomosti reportedthat in 2023 at least seven Russian airlines will start or resume flights to China or increase the number of flights to this country. On March 13, the S7 company announced the resumption of flights between Irkutsk and Beijing, as well as Novosibirsk in Urumqi – it will begin on May 27 this year.
