Turchak proposed to fix the minimum share of Russian goods in grocery stores

Russia should legislate the minimum share of Russian products in chain grocery stores, said Andrey Turchak, First Vice Speaker of the Federation Council, Secretary of the General Council of United Russia. About it informed EP press office.

No details are given as to how this initiative might be framed. Turchak also announced support for the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to install kiosks with domestic products at the entrances to the shopping center.

“This will enable our manufacturers to use the shopping traffic of large stores. It is necessary to continue the popularization of domestic products. She needs high-quality information and marketing support,” Turchak said.

In addition, it is necessary to stimulate import substitution through the mechanism of public procurement, and in all areas where goods are purchased with the help of budgetary funds, it is necessary to conduct an audit, thinks Secretary of the General Council of the ER.

January 11, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov recommended heads of regions to create conditions for the opening of kiosks near the entrances to shopping centers and shops. According to the initiative, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses will be able to use the shopping traffic of large shopping centers. Among those who can open kiosks and tents in these places, Manturov includes farmers, manufacturers of textiles, clothing and footwear.

Shopping mall owners asked The Ministry of Industry and Trade will allocate subsidies to businesses so that they can open points in malls instead of kiosks at the entrances to stores. According to them, the massive installation of stalls and kiosks near the entrances to the shopping center will lead to a drop in mall attendance by 10–20%, while shopping center attendance has already decreased by an average of 30% across the country compared to the pre-Covid 2019.
