The Ministry of Culture has clarified the situation with Andrei Rublev's Trinity icon. It will be exhibited on June 4 at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior for two weeks. After that, it will be sent for restoration.

“The Holy Trinity icon by Andrei Rublev, as previously reported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, will be delivered to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow for participation in solemn services and worship by believers on the Orthodox holiday of the Trinity on June 4 and within the next two weeks. Next, the icon will undergo a planned process of restoration and conservation by leading specialists,” the ministry said (quote from Interfax).

At the moment, the Ministry of Culture is developing measures that will ensure the safety of the icon. The message of the ministry emphasizes that the preservation of the icon “during transportation and temporary exhibition will be ensured by all necessary and most modern means.”
