Oil pumping through the section of the Druzhba pipeline in Ukraine has resumed, informed Igor Demin, official representative of Transneft, in a commentary to TASS.
“At 19:46 Moscow time, pumping resumed,” he said.
Pumping through the Ukrainian section of this oil pipeline was suspended earlier today amid reports from the Ukrainian side about new explosions at energy infrastructure facilities.
The last time at the Druzhby site in Ukraine, the pumping was suspended on November 15 – then the transportation of oil in the direction of Hungary was suspended, as reported later, due to damage to the transformer station after the strike on the territory of Ukraine. The next day, Hungary announced the resumption of oil supplies.
The Druzhba pipeline was built in the 1960s. for the delivery of oil from the USSR to the countries of the socialist camp in Eastern Europe. It starts in the Samara region and passes through Bryansk, and then splits into two branches: northern and southern. The northern branch passes through Belarus to Poland, Germany and the Baltic countries, the southern branch passes through the territory of Ukraine to the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. According to Transneft, fuel exports via Druzhba to non-CIS countries in 2021 amounted to 35.9 million tons.
