In 2024, the coverage of school-age children with organized recreation amounted to more than 5.7 million people, which is 465 thousand more than in 2023. This was announced by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov, speaking in the State Duma at the government hour “On the organization of recreation and health of children.” According to the minister, 29% of all Russian schoolchildren were covered by organized recreation.
The head of the Ministry of Education noted that this summer more than 39 thousand children's camps of all types operated in Russia (173 more camps than last year). The volume of financing for children's recreation reached a record 83 billion rubles. (15 billion rubles more than a year ago).
According to the minister, funding for children's recreation increases annually. The head of the department emphasized that the Ministry of Education, together with the State Duma, is making efforts to “make the system of children's camps accessible to the maximum number of parents who want to send their children on vacation.”
