On October 1, the first round of the Russian volleyball championship among youth teams ended in Novy Urengoy. The hosts of the site in the return match beat the athletes from the city of Kemerovo. This was reported on the website of the volleyball club “Fakel”.
The rematch between the youth team of Novy Urengoy and Kemerovo “Kuzbass-2” ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of Yamal. Volleyball players of “Fakel” thus “repaid the debt” to Kemerovo residents: in the previous match, the opponent with a score of 3:0 beat New Urengoy people.
“Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to hold some kind of long pre-season tournament, we played only a couple of friendly matches, so the young guys have not had time to rebuild since last season. The key moment was the defeat 0:3 in the first match with Kuzbass-2, moreover, in two sets we lost with an insulting score of 23:25. There was no volleyball, but there were a lot of mistakes. But then I managed to pull myself together and play three matches already as a team. It turned out well to finish the tour, so we are already charged for the next one, ”commented Fakel head coach Roman Empolov.
Indeed, the defeat in the first match with Kuzbass-2 was the only loss of the Yamal athletes in the first round of the championship. On the eve of the youth team “Torch” for the second time beat volleyball players from Nizhny Novgorod.
