The White House refused to guarantee the safety of Americans traveling to Ukraine to fight

The US authorities are urging fellow citizens to refuse to travel to Ukraine for military operations, and are not ready to guarantee the safety of those who decide to take such a step, said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

Speaking at the briefing, Jean-Pierre noted that the US administration welcomes the exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine, in which 2 Americans were returned. According to her, Washington is waiting for the return of these citizens to their families, and they are grateful to Ukraine for being included in the negotiations.

The White House press secretary once again reminded that the US State Department strongly discourages American citizens from traveling to Ukraine, and those taking part in hostilities are at very serious risk. According to Jean-Pierre, the US authorities "cannot guarantee their safety."

On September 23, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that more than 100 foreign mercenaries were destroyed during the hostilities in Ukraine in just a day.
