The volume of private investments in Russian shares in September exceeded 16 billion rubles


In September 2022, private investors invested 16.3 billion rubles in shares of Russian companies, the report says Moscow Exchange. Most often, investors bought shares of Gazprom (35.7%), Sberbank (19.1% - ordinary, 5.4% - preferred) and LUKOIL (9.5%).

Mosbirzha also reported on the increase in the number of clients of the platform: in September, 456 thousand people opened brokerage accounts. Individual investment accounts (IIAs) were opened by 42.5 thousand people during the month, and the IIA turnover since the beginning of the year has exceeded 1.4 trillion rubles.

Transactions on the stock market in September were made by 2.3 million people, the share of private investors in stock trading was 76.7% (bonds - 27.6%). Most investment accounts in September were opened by clients from Moscow (626 thousand), Moscow region (350.1 thousand) and St. Petersburg (272.8 thousand).

The volume of trading in foreign securities in Russia in September decreased by 36% - to $ 5.85 billion, according to data SPB Exchange. A similar situation is associated with strict restrictions of the Central Bank, an unstable geopolitical situation and the fall of the American market.
