The United States intends to produce Switchblade 600 loitering ammunition in Ukraine
The US company AeroVironment has signed an agreement to localize the production of Switchblade 600 tactical loitering ammunition in Ukraine, writes the Ukrainian Military Portal.
These munitions are known to reach speeds of 110 kilometers per hour and hit targets at a distance of about 40 km.
Senior Vice President of AeroVironment Bret Hash said in a comment to the publication that cooperation will be gradual. Everything “will start with the subsystem components being sent... Over time, we will localize more and more systems and improve the complex.” Hush also noted that this should be several thousand Switchblade 600 per year. For security reasons, the Ukrainian company is not named in the publication.
Meanwhile, the agreement must be approved by the US government, which could take about nine months.
