The Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation announced its intention to boycott the Congress of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). This is stated on the website of the organization.
The reason for this decision is the participation of Belarus and Russia in the event. The Ukrainian Federation considered the admission of representatives of these countries unacceptable.
The FIG Congress is to be held on 11-12 November. Initially, the event was supposed to be held in Norway, but Oslo refused to host the congress if Russians and Belarusians took part in it. As a result, the congress was moved to Turkey.
In early March, FIG disqualified the Russians from participating in international tournaments. Also, judges and officials from Russia are not allowed to work at tournaments.
