The Swiss court rejected the appeal against the decision to disqualify Valieva

The Swiss Federal Supreme Court has rejected an appeal against the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to disqualify figure skater Kamila Valieva. She will also have to pay legal costs amounting to 7 thousand Swiss francs.

“The appellant will pay compensation to the International Skating Union and the World Anti-Doping Agency in the amount of 8 thousand francs each as reimbursement of expenses,” the court’s decision said (quoted from "RIA Novosti").

CAS suspended Valieva for four years for positive doping tests. Because of this, its results at the 2022 Olympics were canceled, and Russia went from first to third place. The US team received gold medals, and figure skaters from Japan received silver. The Canadian federation appealed the review of the tournament results, but CAS rejected her.

AP found that during the CAS hearings on Valieva’s doping case, the World Anti-Doping Agency may have hidden the results of a scientific experiment that supported the version of doping entering the athlete’s body through dessert.

Details - in the publication "Kommersant" “Kamila Valieva’s experiment has disappeared”.
