The State Duma proposed to introduce a concession for travel on toll roads on New Year's holidays

State Duma deputy Ivan Sukharev proposed introducing a 50% discount on toll roads on New Year's holidays, informs RT with reference to a copy of the letter addressed to the head of the Ministry of Transport Vitaly Savelyev.

In the letter, the legislator noted that the New Year holidays last more than a week and Russians actively use these days to travel by private car to relatives and travel to other regions.

Many of them, according to the deputy, could drive along toll roads, which are better equipped in terms of ensuring safety in the winter. However, due to the high cost of travel, some of these citizens prefer to travel on free roads.

“I ask you to consider the issue of the advisability of introducing a 50% discount from the established tariffs for the passage of vehicles of citizens on toll federal highways during the New Year holidays,” Sukharev addressed Savelyev.

Earlier in the Russian Federation, it was proposed to exempt families with many children from paying toll roads.
