The State Duma and the Accounts Chamber regulate government hours

The State Duma amended the regulations of the lower chamber, clarifying the procedure for holding government hours – events during which members of the government and heads of departments speak to deputies, as well as the procedure for working with the Accounts Chamber (CA). The changes were developed by the State Duma commission on regulations.

In the regulations, a rule appears that no later than one week before the day of the government hour, a joint meeting of the relevant committee responsible for preparation and the control committee is held. There, the information of the invited representatives of the executive authorities, other officials and the auditor of the joint venture is heard. Based on the results of the meeting, a decision is made with proposals for holding a government hour, which then must be approved by the Duma Council. The Monitoring Committee following this meeting may prepare an opinion on the results of information from the Ministers.
