During the meeting, the Supervisory Board of Roscosmos supported the decision of the head of the state corporation Yuri Borisov to reduce the number of employees of the central office of the state corporation by 10%. As reported on website Government, the Supervisory Board also approved the new composition of the company’s management. Andrey Elchaninov and Alexander Ivanov have been appointed as Mr. Borisov’s first deputies.

As a result of the meeting, it follows from the message, it is planned to create two new areas of activity for Roscosmos. The essence of the first is the development of projects to create and provide a wide range of users of space services on a reimbursable basis. The state corporation plans to start cooperation with private companies that specialize in the creation of satellites and space systems.

The second direction is the creation of an electronic base for spacecraft, without which, according to the company, it is impossible to switch to the conveyor assembly of satellites for the production of hundreds of units per year. The message on the government website notes that Mr. Borisov reported this when he took office as CEO in July 2022.

Russian President Vladimir Putin freed Dmitry Rogozin from the post of General Director of Roscosmos on July 15. He has held this post since 2018. Yuri Borisov, who was appointed head of the state corporation, previously served as deputy prime minister.
