The management of Roskosmos will reduce the staff of its central office by 10%. The corresponding decision was made by the supervisory board of the state corporation.

As reported on the website of the government of the Russian Federation, the Supervisory Board meeting was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the country – Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. During the meeting, the updated composition of the board of the state corporation was approved. The new structure of the corporation was presented by the General Director of Roskosmos Yuri Borisov. Andrey Elchaninov and Alexander Ivanov were approved as the first deputies of the general director.

According to him, the Supervisory Board supported Borisov’s decision to optimize the headcount of the corporation’s central office by 10 percent.

The Supervisory Board also reappointed Anatoly Usmanov to the post of general director of Salavat Chemical Plant JSC. He approved Yevgeny Nesterov as General Director of JSC “Information satellite systems named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev”.

And two new directions will appear in the structure of Roskosmos. The first is related to the development of projects to create and provide a wide range of users of space services on a reimbursable basis. In particular, it is planned to cooperate with private companies involved in the creation of satellites and space systems.

The state corporation will also create an electronic component base for spacecraft. Without it, it is impossible to switch to the conveyor assembly of satellites and produce hundreds of them a year, as Borisov has been talking about since coming to the post of head of Roskosmos in July 2022.
