The United Press Service of the Courts of St. Petersburg reported on its Telegram channel that the Vyborgsky District Court did not choose a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for a Tunisian citizen who is accused of stealing bicycles.

Ben Ahmed Sherif was sentenced to 1.5 years in May 2021 for robbery. After that, he signed up as a volunteer for a special operation and ended up in the Wagner PMC.

The sheriff received a medal “For Courage” and was pardoned by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

However, this year, on March 22, he stole two bicycles worth 33,000 rubles on Fyodor Abramov Street. The next day, the police went to the Sheriff, detained him and charged him.

It is known that Ben Ahmed Sherif is currently awaiting Russian citizenship.
