The Russian Orienteering Cup will be held in the Khabarovsk Territory

The day before, the competition of the strongest in orienteering was launched in the region. Races of the Cup and All-Russian competitions in this sport are being held here. In the Khabarovsk Territory, competitions are held for the fifth time in the last ten years. 370 athletes from 18 regions of Russia will take part in them.
– We have a varied terrain, many orienteering tracks and qualified judges. There are 9 referees of the All-Russian category in the Khabarovsk Territory, thanks to the support of the regional government, we have modern chronometric equipment at our disposal – these factors are necessary for holding a competition of this level, – said President of the Orienteering Federation of the Khabarovsk Territory Yuri Semenchukov.
This year, participants will compete in long distances – cross-selection, cross-long, cross-classic and cross-marathon.
– It may not be so much in kilometers – about 15-20, but running through the taiga with a difference in altitude is very difficult. Therefore, at the shortest distance, athletes will be on the track for about an hour, and at the longest, up to two and a half hours, – Yuri Semenchukov emphasized.
