The Russian national football team has been suspended from participation in the selection draw for the European Championship 2024. About it says in a press release on the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
The reason is the February decision of UEFA to suspend the performance of Russian teams and clubs in competitions under the auspices of the organization. The decision was challenged by the RFU at the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS). However, they denied the appeal.
Earlier, the president of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andriy Pavelko announced the removal of the Russian national team on social networks. According to him, football Russia has nothing to prepare for. UEFA will comply with the demands of politicians and will not allow the Russian team on October 9 to an event in Frankfurt, Germany.
