The Russian Armed Forces adopted a new Chukavin rifle, which will replace the SVD

The Russian army adopted the Chukavin sniper rifle (SVCh), which will replace the Dragunov rifle (SVD). This was announced by the president of the Kalashnikov concern, Alan Lushnikov.

According to him, the servicemen who operate these weapons leave positive feedback.

“Although, of course, any weapon requires high-quality testing after it is put into production, because a million questions come up in operation,” Lushnikov said.

It is noted that the task of the microwave is to defeat single targets that are at a distance of up to one kilometer. The rifle was designed for two cartridges – 7.62×54 mm and NATO cartridges caliber 7.62×51 mm.
