Belgrade is currently undergoing attempts at a “Maidan coup”. This was announced by the Russian Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko.
According to him, now the aggravation in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as in the center of Serbia, is pressure on President Aleksandar Vucic, who is pursuing an independent policy towards Russia.
“There is an attack on the authorities in Belgrade, on President Vucic, the reason is quite obvious – this is his independent line, the struggle to preserve independence and sovereignty, which simply infuriates Washington and Brussels,” the Russian diplomat said.
He stressed that the protests that have arisen in Serbia and in northern Kosovo show the involvement of the West in this situation, using the opposition in Belgrade to undermine the authority of the Serbian president.
