The Rostov Ministry of Justice changed its mind about liquidating the “Assyrian Church Community” in Shakhty

The Ministry of Justice of the Rostov Region has withdrawn the lawsuit against the “Community of the Holy Apostolic Cathedral of the Assyrian Church of the East” in Shakhty. The joint press service of the regional courts reported that the plaintiff abandoned the claim “in connection with the elimination of the violations that served as the basis for going to court.”

Previous edition "Vedomosti South" with reference to the Don Ministry of Justice, it was reported that the reason for the proceedings was a violation by a religious organization of the law “On Freedom of Conscience and on Religious Associations.” Simultaneously with the Assyrian Church Community, the department filed a similar lawsuit against the Rostov Jewish Religious Community - KEROR. A hearing in this case is scheduled for October 3.

The Assyrian Church of the East is one of the ancient Christian churches; by the beginning of the 21st century, it had about 400 thousand followers around the world.
