Roskomnadzor (RKN) may block the resources that will broadcast the international Eurovision Song Contest 2023 if propaganda of LGBT relations is noticed at the event. This was reported TASS in the department’s press office.

Roskomnadzor recalled that, in accordance with Russian law, LGBT propaganda in the media and on the Internet is prohibited. The distribution of such materials provides for restriction of access to information resources, as well as administrative liability under Art. 6.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Law on the complete ban on LGBT propaganda in Russia President Vladimir Putin signed December 5, 2022.

The Eurovision final will take place on May 13. This year 37 countries will take part in the competition. Russia will not be among them, as the European Broadcasting Union removed it from participation in response to the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine. However, Russians will be able to vote through a special platform.

At Eurovision 2022 won Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra. The next competition was supposed to take place on the territory of the winning country, but the European Broadcasting Union decidedthat the competition will not be held in Ukraine due to security concerns. It will take place in the UK in 2023.
