The competitions, in which student and youth teams took part, were held from 16 to 18 September. The strongest teams of the Ural Federal District and guests from Kazakhstan fought for the victory in the Open Cup of the FBCO.
In the women’s standings, the absolute leader was the athletes from Yekaterinburg – UMMC-DYuBL. They have won all three games. “Chelbasket-Slavyanka”, teams of SUSU and MSTU named after M.V. Nosova (Magnitogorsk) scored an equal number of points, so the final places were determined by additional parameters. Alena Basova (UMMC-DYuBL) was recognized as the most valuable player.
In the men’s standings, students from the Chelyabinsk region team won, they won all the matches. Next come the representatives of ChelGU (Kostanay), then the students of MSTU. Nosov and Chelbasket-2. The most valuable player of the tournament was Artem Merezhko, representing the Student team of the Chelyabinsk region.
On Friday, September 23, matches of the Qualifying Round of the Russian Cup will take place.
