The Moscow prosecutor’s office warns citizens against appeals and participation in uncoordinated actions. This was stated in the press service of the department.

“On the Internet, including on social networks, there is information with a call to participate in public actions in Moscow and commit other illegal acts. These mass events have not been coordinated with the executive authorities in the manner prescribed by law,” they noted.

The prosecutor’s office stated that the distribution of such materials through social networks, forums and other platforms, as well as the participation and involvement of minors in participation, is punishable under the current administrative and criminal legislation.

Also, the prosecutor’s office said that such actions may fall under Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“Violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding a meeting, rally <...>”), 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation), as well as under articles of the Criminal Code 151 (“Involving a minor in the commission of antisocial acts”), 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Public dissemination of knowingly false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”) and Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Mass riots”). Such violations can lead to up to 15 years in prison.

The organization of an uncoordinated event and participation in them entails liability established by Russian law, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
