As reported in press office of the regional government, in the Khabarovsk Territory for the first time they will organize a stage of the professional series Russian Judo Tour. Preparations for prestigious judo competitions are already underway. The work will be carried out within the framework of the agreements reached between the government of the region and the Russian Judo Federation (FDR).

According to Alexander Nikitin, First Vice Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, President of the Judo Federation of the Far Eastern Federal District, in September 2022, the Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Mikhail Degtyarev and Vice President, Executive Director of the FDR Valentin Khabirov signed an agreement. According to this document, they will jointly organize and hold a tournament in memory of Vasily Oshchepkov in a new status.

To date, the delegates of the Russian Judo Federation have arrived in the region to determine the venue for the RJT tournament and resolve organizational issues. Approximately 400 athletes are expected to compete for cash prizes. The prize fund of the tournament will be 7.3 million rubles. The event itself will take place April 1-2.
