The probability of changing the status of a military operation in new Russian regions was estimated

The introduction of the CTO regime may also occur in the Crimea, Kursk, Belgorod and Rostov regions

According to the results of the referendum, after joining Russia in the Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, a special counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime may be established, said Anatoly Vyborny, deputy head of the State Duma security committee. In turn, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the chief council of the regional administration, also asked for the introduction of CTO in the Zaporozhye region. Thus, a special military operation (SVO) can get a new format.

The accession of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will give these territories a new status that will allow them to be protected from armed attacks as a full-fledged part of the Russian Federation. It is through these regions that the line of contact passes, where hostilities are taking place as part of a special military operation between allied forces on the one hand and Ukrainian troops on the other.

During the days of the referendum, the activity of Ukrainian formations in these areas only intensified. Dozens of shells of American MLRS HIMARS flew into residential areas of Alchevsk, Lisichansk, Donetsk, Kherson and other settlements.

Subversive terrorist groups also pose a danger to power plants, power lines, gas pipelines and water supply channels. As you know, they operate even on the territory of Russia, in the regions adjacent to the old Ukrainian border.

The official entry of the four regions into Russia is unlikely to stop Kyiv's power intentions. Moreover, US patrons represented by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken have officially declared that there are no bans on the use of their weapons on the future Russian territory.

The special operation can then get a new format. The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that so far he is not aware of such a decision, and the prerogative of making it is strictly reserved for Vladimir Putin.

On September 28, at a “round table” in the editorial office of “MK”, the chairman of the executive committee of the All-Russian public organization “Officers of Russia”, retired Major General Alexander Mikhailov, said that after the referendum, the President of Russia may come to the conclusion that “we will be forced to change this wording ( special military operation "MK")".

Now, many “partners” conducting Russophobic activities need to think about what this could threaten, Mikhailov believes, “Then Bankovaya Street (a street in Kyiv where state institutions of Ukraine are located - "MK") there will not be and will not be other decision-making centers that exist today,” the general noted.

In a conversation with MK, military expert Yuri Knutov noted that the introduction of the CTO regime could occur not only in new Russian regions, but also in the Crimea, as well as the Kursk, Belgorod and Rostov regions. “It's all very likely. The CTO regime imposes certain restrictions on the actions and freedoms of citizens. There, it becomes possible to conduct unauthorized searches, impose a curfew, inspect private property - shops, businesses, residential buildings, if circumstances so require.

The CTO regime, the expert believes, is primarily intended to limit the freedom of action of the enemy in any territory. “These are sabotage groups and terrorist organizations that operate there. We are now facing this in the LDNR, in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Therefore, the introduction of CTO will be fully justified, ”concluded Knutov.
